Being part of the household means being obedient and of service. In particular, what is required is to learn how to provide excellent service as desired by MASTER.
This past weekend, for example, a sub prospect requested to be taken more deeply into BDSM and to explore mummification.
After explaining the conditions of the training, I also explained that service in the house has to do with a "no matter what" attitude. That is, once a task, project, or experience begins; it is brought to completion "no matter what" feelings might arise. Thus, it is wiser to begin what can be done and completed (reality-based) than to agree to something that seems "cool" or "hot" without experiential foundation (fantasy-based). I'm guessing this prospect thought the later and would learn more about the former as a result of the training.
In other training situations, I am likely to judge a prospect ready when it does not believe it is and take it into an experience where the responsibility is MINE to ensure its safety and some reasonable probability that it will arrive at a new place in its life and experience. Part of MY mission is to challenge FEAR (false expectations appearing real) with reality.
In this instance, it was important to ground a desire/fantasy in experience.
Given all the caveats about and safety considerations related to mummification, the prospect agreed to "go under" for sixty (60) minutes with an understanding that sixty minutes means "sixty" minutes of completed mummification.
Probably 20 minutes into the timed-experience, the prospect lost its head-space and began "freaking." This is where the work of M/s and mummification begins. I worked with the prospect to remind it that this was a "no matter what" experience and that it would learn what being under another's control was about. The prospect struggled with this obedience and begged and pleaded to be released (topping-from-below) without doing its work. I reminded it again and again, this is a "no matter what" situation and there's no going back--there's only forward and through.
To help return it to sub-space, W/we used breathe counting (breath, exhale slowly, and count 10 breaths to begin again) which helped and calmed the prospect. The internal struggle was against the ego attempting to assert control by changing the conditions of the world to satisfy its immediate needs. When this didn't work, the ego tried other strategies; until there was nothing left to do other than "be" in the body wrapped and bound. This is the real training of MY house--accepting what is and making every effort to obey, serve, please, and worship MASTER (not ego) without hesitation.
The ego has this profound capacity to desire other than what is...a capacity to want its needs over that of reality and others...and has no patience with accepting responsibility but rather desires to shift the burden of unwanted experiences onto others for them to remove.
This didn't happen for the prospect's ego and both (the prospect and ego) had to deal with a power greater than either to "endure" and "survive." With MASTER's help, the prospect learned to listen to MASTER over the ego and to find the calm in the experience. The breathing slowed, the headspace returned and the prospect was able to complete the 60 minutes as agreed.
Cutting the prospect out of the wrappings was like a new birth. The prospect appeared to drink in the relief and its freedom in a new way. It was a freedom that the prospect had no control over, was a gift of the MASTER, and so there could be gratitude for the release and a recognition that under a MASTER's hand, there is no control. There is only the responsibility of obedience and doing whatever is necessary to satisfy obedience and its obligations.
In addition, such release builds trust for the next time, the next experience. MASTER's first and only question after such experiences is: "Did it die?" To which the prospect responded, "MASTER, no, MASTER." Reality-testing, drinking in liberation following release and gratitude are the antidotes to ego's fear. These are the energy of kink as well. The not knowing when well-regulated can be what enables going deeper and deeper into the kink.
The lesson this prospect learned was: "Be careful what you ask for, you just may get it and be required to satisfy whatever is expected." Further, it learned to trust and let go of its need to know and control all the time.
So this prospect had a little bit more of its "topping-from-below" challenged and a learning that obedience is demanding and liberating. I think, too, it grew more trusting as well.
W/we'll have to see what more the prospect will learn about obedience with excellence, enthusiasm, and without hesitation as future trainings unfold.

I get this. I am claustrophobic but I like the idea of being bound.
